Reiki is a technique for empowerment and deep relaxation. It is easy to learn and easy to do. It is a self-help tool for personal growth and a wonderful gift to give yourself. Reiki is an excellent way to begin or enhance your journey to health and purpose, because it uses energy for treating physical, emotional and mental concerns. The calming effect on the mind is trememdous. We do our greatest healing when our body, mind and spirit are at rest together.
Reiki requires a placement of the hands on energy receptive areas of the body. The recipient remains fully clothed. There is no strain, no movement, just stillness and calm as energy flows from the practitioner to the recipient. It is non-invasive and very peaceful. Reiki works well in conjunction with all medicines and your current medical treatments. Reiki will never do harm, only positive support for where you are in the moment and what you are experiencing in your life. A full treatment takes approximately one hour.
As a Reiki Master Instructor for 15 years, I have taught hospital volunteers, medical staff, nurses and physicians, as well as having taught private and individual care-givers in many of the healing professions, private sectors and corporations. I teach the traditional Usui method of Reiki. This method has three levels of training, all of which are offered at The Center.
In Level I you will learn the history of Reiki and hand positions for working on yourself, family and friends. We do a lot of hands on work in all these classes so please dress comfortably.
In Level II you will be given symbols to work with. Symbols are important if you will be working with physically or mentally ill people. You will also be taught distance healing techniques. This technique will allow you to send Reiki healing energy to anyone who lives a distance from you.
MASTER PREPARATION CLASS
This is a two-hour class to review your knowledge of Levels I and II. In this class your Reiki Master will also aquaint you with and discuss what to expect and what is necessary in order to prepare you to become a Reiki Master. If you are considering becoming a Reiki Master you must take this class as a prerequisite.
In Level III (the level of achievement known as Reiki Master) You will be taught how to teach Levels I, II and III, and how to give Reiki Attunements. This course is followed by a one-year internship at The Pennsylvania Center for Intuitive Studies, where you will be offering treatments and be a Reiki Master's aid on all levels. The purpose of this internship is to prepare you for the work that lies ahead as a Reiki Master instructor.
Reiki is currently being used in many of our area hospitals.......in chemotherapy, child delivery, orthopedic knee replacement and more. Ask your physician as to the availability of Reiki in your hospital.

The Center offers HYPNOTHERAPEUTIC REIKI, a combination of hypnosis while receiving Reiki. It is excellent for stress reduction, self-esteem issues, pain relief, confidence building and much, much more.
